Three reminders

These little conifers are a species of Tsuga, or Hemlock, grown from seed brought back from his first journey through North Vietnam by my departed friend Jamie Taggart, of the Linn Botanic Garden in Cove. Jamie disappeared last October on the first day of his second trip to Vietnam - his father let me have these trees which I hope will prove to be hardy here. They may be Tsuga dumosa or T. chinensis, the range of both of which extends into high altitude North Vietnam. Time will tell, no doubt.
