I'm spinning around..........

When J dropped me off at the gym this morning, they were setting up outside for a display due to start at midday. I left at about 11 o'clock, and headed on up to the church, for a cuppa and a chat. When i arrived , Kevin, Dick and the Reverend were sitting together . I took a box of Welsh tea bags out of my gym bag and handed them to Kevin. When i was there last week, they mentioned that they only had a few tea bags left, so i said i would bring some in, instead of my usual biscuits. I sat down, and then another lady, called Joan arrived. Kevin poured us both a cup of tea. Joan is a regular churchgoer, and started to tell me how she fell, on her way out of church last Sunday. I could see out of the corner of my eye, that the Rev had called Kevin to the side and they were having a few words. A few minutes later, the Rev walked off. Kevin sat down, and was quiet for a few minutes. He then turned to me and said, the Rev wasn't happy, as the tea bags you brought in weren't fairtrade. Joan and i looked at each other, and we thought that Kevin was having a laugh, but he wasn't. Apparently, the church is a fairtrade church. I really couldn't believe it! As you know i usually take biscuits, and apparently that is fine, but not the tea bags. I felt very annoyed, and so was Joan and Kevin . I understand what fair trade means, but gave them as a gift for us to share. Not what i would have expected from the church. I left not long afterwards, as i wanted to go back down to the Recreation centre to get my blip of the spinning class, who were promoting giving up smoking for October. I caught the bus home, and when J got back, he couldn't believe what i told him. This afternoon i had a phone call from Kevin. He said, I am so sorry for what happened today. He said that when he left the church to go home on his bicycle, he saw the Rev, and he said, i couldn't look at him. I think this incident had upset not only me, but also Joan and Kevin. Sorry about my rant, but i had to share this with you.
