Mum spent a couple of hours professionally knocked out today, while clever people with hacksaws gave her a new knee.

This will be her view for the next few days, it could be much worse. She seemed fairly ok when I visited post-op today, a bit woozy still, but that's to be expected.

I'm amazed at this kind of surgery - that some hip replacements are back on their (tentative) feet on the same day. Mum gets a full day of leisure before they start pummelling her into action, but just watching her wiggle her feet around this evening was incredible.
