Expectation

A pre-conference dinner this evening promised so much on arrival. The menus listed kebabs, falafel and humous and a delicious aroma of spices filled the air. All hopes were dashed as it turns out all those luscious dishes were only available on the ala cart menu. The set meal was disappointingly bland.

Fortunately the wine was very palatable and it was a great opportunity to network with like minded people from all over Japan.

I seem to you cruel and too much addicted to gluttony, when I beat my cook for sending up a bad dinner. If that seems to you too trifling a cause, pray tell for what cause you would have a cook flogged?
