Port Levy Jetty under the Milky Way

I stayed the night with friends over at Port Levy last night, and went down late to the rocky beach. That's Horomaka Island over behind the jetty.

The glow over the hills to the right is light pollution from Lyttelton and Christchurch, but I can only think that the glow over the hills to the left must be aurora glow. I'm not sure what the level of activity was last night though. Maybe Horomaka will tell me!
