under the stars

A local town was founded in the late 1800's by a group of people who fled 200 years of religious persecution and near starvation in Italy. There is now an outdoor play performed by a local drama group with tells the story of these people. This is their 40th year performing this story, which runs for several weeks during the summer.

This was the first time we have been to see it. I learned a lot about the history I have heard about over the fourteen years we have lived here. There was dancing, singing, gun and sword fights and even a burning at the stake. It was very well done.

I got several shots of the action to share, but decided on this one because I liked the look of it.
