1st piece of homework!

My 4 1/2 year old came home with homework today! And yes it was in the form of M&Ms! We were told that she had to create patterns with them or make shapes with them before she could eat them.
Before I opened the envelope, I imagined that there would be 10-12 candies and we might have to get more to make all the shapes she described on the way home (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, heart, butterfly, her name letters...).
We opened the envelop to a cascade of candies - ok maybe 40 - and had a lot of fun and adventures making patterns and then some shapes before the hunger overtook her and she ate some of her candies. We saved the rest as a giant triangle for another day!
