at home with an Ivysaurus

It turns out a knife off a candle stick makes a cool sound. Ivy even sat down so she could concentrate hard on being musical.

No morning nap from Ivy this morning, I probably could have got her down at about the time we need to leave for playgroup, but I made the executive descision that having fun is more important than sleeping. She drifted off on the way there, but woke up when we arrived. Snack involved slices of bannanas along with brioche and satsuma sections. Ivy didn't reconise bannana out of skin at first, but when I held a piece up for her to try, she literally threw her brioche aside and in a matter of seconds all of her bannana had disappeared.

We had to stay late to help organise the craft cupboard at playgroup. Ivy was a bit grumpt at first so I put her on my back, but then she realised she was missing an opportunity to put small objects in her mouth and get in the way so she wanted out to play. She was kept amused with some breadsticks and yet more bannana.

We got home just as Euan was coming in for lunch. Ivy completly conked out after Euan left and I managed to get her into her sleeping bag without waking her up after her feed. She woke up after an hour, but was clearly still tired so I patted her back to sleep and she slept for another 2 hours. I thought she was never going to wake up.

Whilst she was asleep I rearranged furniture in our room. We've got rid of a big storage unit and are putting some bookcases behind the headboard instead. I'm also moving the laundry baskets closer to Euans side of the bed. I won't write why, since he reads these blips, but I'm sure you can guess.

For dinner we cracked open one of our spaghetti squash and had it was ragu I cooked in the pressure cooker (that even if I say so myself, my Italian mother would have been impressed by). It was so big, that half of it was more than enough spaghetti for us with another good meal of leftovers. It's good cos it has crunch and a lightness that squash, that I find can sometimes be clawing, doesn't always have.

This evening, Ivy was doing pull ups on the back of a chair
- Euan was supporting most of her weight, but she was definitiyl pulling herself up and balancing. Poor Euan's arms were getting sore, but she kept wanting to do it again and again. We'll get her rock climbing soon.
