Morecambe Bay

Today's the day ....................... for an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Had a lovely walk today up on to Warton Crag - a prominent limestone hill in the Arnside & Silverdale AONB.

The views from the top were spectacular from the fells of the Lake District National Park to the north, Ingleborough, the Yorkshire Dales, Caton Moor and the Forest of Bowland to the east - and the vast intertidal expanse of Morecambe Bay to the south and west.

This is looking southwest across the estuary of the River Keer where it goes into Morecambe Bay right across to oblong shapes that are the Power Station at Heysham way in the distance .............................
