The Idol, Brimham Rocks

Up and away home, stopping at Brimham Rocks in Yorkshire for some fresh air.

Here the millstone grit has been weathered into strange shapes, or, like The Idol formation, balanced on minimal support. The rough texture and layered wearing of the rock made excellent climbing surface for visitors large and small, and there were plenty of each and in-between.

Then it was back on the road and over the moors to the motorway home.
