The Hours
Oh the poetry of an Autumnal sunrise!
The sun is a much welcome sight as summer fades to Autumn. It considerately rises towards the end of September at a sociable enough hour, allowing me to snap away on the commute to work. We've been fortunate to see a good number over the past days and this morning's was no exception: a beauty to behold, casting a light across the landscape, reminiscent of the warning glow from an open fire. Beneath it, the last vestiges of an autumn mist clings to the fields, before succumbing to those warming rays.
At a much more advanced hour of the day, a 'what time are you coming home' text appeared and a lengthy journey home consumed yet more hours, as a result of an altercation between vehicles on the dual carriageway. I was fortunate enough to have prior warning, but nevertheless, an alternative to the alternative route had to be found.
Having arrived home at approaching 8, more hours were consumed by showering a particularly stubborn child and cooking a meal, before relaxing by the very real flames of a fire in the wood-burning stove.
