Bring Me Sunshine

A celebration of Margaret who was also known as Poppy (because she was born on Poppy Day, 11th November) – my lovely Mother-in-law. We wore cheerful clothes, large poppy buttonholes and sang Bring Me Sunshine – we laughed as well as cried.
Her wonderful children (my husband, his three sisters and one brother) and a grandson read poems they’d written and that Poppy had written, and gave wonderful tributes. We said our goodbyes to an amazing, funny, strong woman of great achievement, in a style that she’d have loved. And in the evening we drank the hotel bar dry. We did her proud.
