Bird on a wire

Was quite surprised to see this kingfisher sitting on a telephone wire early this morning; very little light and no water around that I could see but at least he sat still. Much bigger than the British kingfisher, and greyer, although in this pic he comes across more blue and red like his UK counterpart.
