Gift keeps giving

After the hurricanes a couple of years ago, a friend planted a very pretty bush in our yard which produces these lovely flowers. I have always thought they were a type of hibiscus, but now I am not so sure after trying to identify this online.

I have no idea what it is, but I really love this bush and now that our skies have started raining more regularly, it is producing quite an abundance of flowers.
