Fading away...

News from the vet's wasn't good - she's fairly certain Rosie has liver cancer. We were given the option of blood tests and x-rays to confirm her diagnosis, but decided agaisnt this as we felt it would be unecessarily stressful. Rosie is nearly fifteen, and has already exceeded her expected lifespan by nearly two years - and has been in remarkably good health during the whole of that time. She's not in pain, and has come home with antibiotics and steroids, which can provide a boost and will give us a few more days (or even weeks) to make a fuss of her before its time to say goodbye. She's already looking a little brighter and has eaten small amounts of lean minced beef and fish. The vet said we were to spoil her and let her have whatever she likes, which was lovely to hear.
