A mystical experience...

...in the back streets of Lipsi!
Our upstairs neighbour told us about coming across a giant sculpture of a lotus flower on her morning walks. We made it our mission to find it this afternoon after seeing S&R on to the ferry - and it is huge, about 10metres high. We saw a gate with "Om" roughly painted on it, so knocked and went in cautiously - and this is what met our eyes...
An old guy came out to meet us, and he explained in sign language and a bit of Greek and a smattering of words I recognised that his garden symbolises the whole universe and peace. There are symbols from the 5 major religions round the central pillar,  and he said he had been moved to develop the garden from the spiritual energy of the universe ( I'm paraphrasing and guessing a bit here, obvs ).
A strange and wonderful thing to come across on a tiny Greek island...
