Dancing Flames

Finally - that icy blast came our way with squally showers, bitterly wind and a temperature of 7C, we lit the new fire.

Yes, there was smoke and fumes being a new fire and yes we did have to open the doors and windows to flush out the fumes and to stop the smoke alarms going off but this is a small price to pay for the first fire.

I've enjoyed watching the hot flames dance and I've also enjoyed standing in front of the fire feeling the warmth warm my bones, even more so it not turning off as the heat pump seems to do.

You can't bet a good fire for heat its different from a heat pump as it lingers when turned down but a heat pump is good for convenience - I know we'll use both especially during the in between seasons - our house is now cosy and warm.
