Close Call

I was finishing lunch on Friday when I heard crows raising a racket out behind the house. I was quite sure some raptor was the object of their ire, so I grabbed my camera and went outside. There five or six crows in a pine tree down by the edge of the creek, all facing the same direction, but I couldn’t see what was making them so excited. as I tried to get abetter view, a large red-tailed hawk suddenly took off and flew to a tree across the creek. To get an unobstructed view, I headed for our pier, but the hawk was put flight before I got there.
