NAME SAKE

We drove over to Ripon this afternoon to see if I could pick up a replacement for the kitchen mat which I got at Calvert's a few years ago, afraid to say they were shut! With our obsession with shopping 24/7 this came as a bit of a surprise. So as not to have wasted the journey I decided to drop some flowers of at the bedside of my ex wife who has now been moved to the local hospital, She has Motor Neurone Disease but although she has reached the stage where communication is nigh on impossible I think she was pleased to see me. On saying my goodbye's I found the present Mrs S deep in conversation with one of the Grandson's so I left her to her phone call and took a wee walk up to the Spa Gardens, Long ago when life was a little simpler I use to take my boy to The Ripon Spa Baths every Sunday to swim, from there to the cafe in the gardens then spend the afternoon walking the hind legs off the dog (and him) just to give my wife some of piece and quiet as she worked nights, seeing her in her hospital bed was a little unsettling and I suppose guilt on my part brought these memories back, I'v always like the brickwork of The Baths, Ripon does have some gems in its Architecture & is worth a tour round, after we went to have an Ice Cream at Ripley (the sign says world famous but in truth its not a patch on what it use to taste like twenty years ago). Decided to Blip my name sake today as I've had the family on my mind, not sure if we came from the Flower, a brokering dynasty or simply were a bunch of criminals but now you at least know what my surname is.
