Each year we hold a family get together. This year 44 of us cycled around the beautiful island of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde. We were blessed with glorious weather.

Here you can see my cousin P making a break for it, hotly pursued by my second cousin M, while in the background the main peloton are still taking a break at the war memorial. M was the youngest to complete the course under his own steam. I think you can see how determined he was. Can you guess who was the oldest to complete the ride?

We caught the ferry home and the celebrations continued at my brother's house where we were joined by some others who had not taken part in the Giro di Cumbrae.

Already looking forward to next year's event.
