#ghostie - ancient rock painting
What an amazing day on the Isle of Arran again. It was really sunny day with occasional beautiful clouds in the blue sky.
Today I was choosing the Three Beinns Walk in Glen Rosa area.
I was really lucky because I' m probably the first person who find the traces of old cultures there. Now I could understand how every explorer feels the excitement when he(she) is making discovery (revelation, find). Not sure with the right word now.
That' s the reason why I' m uploading the picture of the rock painting near the Beinn Tarsuinn like evidence.
I' m maybe first person who find the tags of creativity which was providing by some old cultures here in Scotland. They were interesting in self-portraiting a centuries ago as well. You could recognize the painting of the silhouette which is preparing the pose for self-painting. So we could understand from my personal observation about that old art that the act of making a selfies is not something special (hot, chic) for our modern culture. the truth is that the cult of "#selfies" in these days coming from the old ages.
My opinion is that every explorer must give the right name for new discovery (find, revelation). So I would like to give the name for those kind of old rock paintings (with your permission).
We could call those ancient selfie' s rock paintings like the "#ghosties"
Hope that all of us will be lucky one day and you will be discovering another evidence about ancient selfie cult. Wishing good luck with exploring and discovering the tags of ancient "self-portraiting culture".
Anyway "Three Beinns Walk" is almost easy hill walking. You could find just only one part like slightly difficult. It' s part of the route under the Beinn Tarsuinn highest peak near the Pagoda Ridge. But scrambling there is much easier than the other route "Scrambling on A Chir" where I was a week ago.
Highly recommended in solid weather because during the cloudy, rainy and misty weather these routes should be tricky by the fact that all those peaks are often covered in clouds in bad weather.
Best route which I should highly recommend in this area is Sannox Horseshoe. But you need a proper equipment (boots, jackets for outdoor), experiences and solid knowledge of scrambling. A few parts of this route should be very tricky in bad weather as well. So carefully and do not hazard.
Finally I should say that Arran' s peaks are great opportunity for practising the scrambling and any outdoor activity (very known for climbing practising as well). Even if you are unexperienced you should go during the good day just only on top of the Goatfell (Arran' s highest corbett) and enjoying the view from the summit. This island is really "Scotland in miniature".
Hope that everybody has a good Saturday.
