Tuscany

Ancient olive tree in close up on a foggy day.

We drive through this olive grove on a narrow dirt road almost daily but each tree has its own character and needs to be seen individually. The trees are between 300 and 400 years old and belonged either to the convento on the corner or to an estate owner. The trees all still produce an abundance of olives.

Next month, the base of this, and other, trees will be covered with shy and tender wood violets.
