World War 1 parade at Oban - Pipe Band
We took the ferry to Oban today.....what a beautiful day, lovely warm sunshine and blue skies.....you could have been anywhere in the world it was glorious. As we boarded the ferry we saw numerous people in full military dress, ranging from cadets, to veterans with their medals proudly pinned to their chest, dressed in kilts with full attire.
It was only when we reached Oban we realised there was a Parade on in Honour of those lost in World War 1. This picture shows one of the pipe bands approaching the Salute. What a great tribute, with personnel from all the armed forces present, including Scots Guards, Highlanders, Navy and Raf, cadets, veterans, the British Legion, and even Brownies and Scouts, followed by another pipe band - great to see.
