Visually Impossible

Today I did something I have been wanting to do for a long time - visit the local art museum in Manchester. Saturday between 10 and 12 admission is free to NH residents, an added bonus. This morning an exhibit of MC Escher's work opened. It will run until January and I will go back. It was a very extensive exhibit and I could not appreciate the whole thing in one visit. In case you are not familiar with him, he was a Dutch graphic artist who did his drawings as woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints. The detail was incredible and he used mathematical relationships to portray figures and space. He used black and white with mirror images. All very visually captivating while seeming impossible. This one is called "Drawing Hands". Check him out on Wikipedia if you want. I was fascinated. A little better in LARGE.
