Aachen cathedral

We spent the day in Aachen, Germany and I forgot to take photographs until it was time to leave.

It was cold, dark and raining and I managed one hastily taken shot without the use of flash. My picture does not do the Aachen cathedral any justice, but you can go here to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the interior.

The Emperor Charlemagne's remains are interred in the cathedral, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978.
