Pembury Old Church

Continuing to follow the trail of the knights round Tonbridge, our route today took us past Pembury Old Church.

The original Church dates from 1147 with most of the the present Church being built in built in 1337 by John Colepeper of Bayhall. There are few windows being Norman. I wish I had gone inside. They still have services in the church once a month. The rest of the time they use the "new church" built by the Victorians because this one was too small..

I was torn between this photo and one of Mr P along the way.. Mr P said the church was more interesting.
