St Andrew's Kirk, Helensburgh
When you enter a church, as a visitor, you never know what treasures you will find within.
St Andrew's Kirk has some very fine stained glass windows in a variety of styles but these two depicting John Logie Baird, the inventor of the television, were outstanding in their colours and design. The windows were installed in 1988 to mark the centenary of his birth. They are indeed a tribute to the man who gave the world such a vivid form of communication. Baird died in 1946 and is buried in Helensburgh cemetry.
