Toad Orgy

More evidence that Spring is coming to Walnut Creek...

I don't quite understand this phenomenon, but I've seen it before. Apparently, the male toads are so anxious to mate that they latch onto anything that moves, including piles of other males. There may be a female in there somewhere if they haven't drowned her. These toads were in a muddy pond with other "couples" and singles.
