Nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus)

The holiday officially starts today with a meal and over night stay at "The Mates" house ready for an early start.

Among packing and getting the cat to the cattery I snatched this shot of a nasturtium in one of the containers from CC's Mum's (FredaH). The colours of Nasturtiums really appeal to her.

Nasturtiums are interesting plants and some of their interest is often overlooked. They make good container plants and ground cover giving a good long lasting splash of colour. However what is often missed is that the leaves flowers and seeds are edible making an interesting and colourful addition to salads etc.
