Apple Cake

We tried making Lucia's apple cake today. I did not have a cherry as she suggested so have a star of apple peel in the middle. The green machine in the background is an apple lathe - its brilliant as it peels and cores the apple in a half a dozen turns. Then you have a nicely sliced apple ready to go.

Been sitting in the sun reading our Book Group book Gone Girl. Enjoying it.
We are going to friends for a meal to watch the election results come out this evening. Will be interesting. I can not predict who will win. Wonder if Mr Teflon face has managed to stop most of the dirt sticking.
