Staying up all night to watch results is not a good plan with an eleven-month-old night-squawker in the house, who would still be demanding breakfast along with his brother at their usual absolute latest of half-past seven no matter how little either they or I had slept, so I just set an alarum for every couple of hours starting at the earliest estimated announcement time to see how things were going. With the way it went I wouldn't have liked to have sat through the whole thing, but unfortunately some would have been compelled to, given their investment in the campaign. It would help if the news media weren't so enthusiastic about finding people who are willing to be televised exhibiting their jubilation, pride and relief.
