Last Judgement
More confusion
This is for those people of Scotland who are feeling hurt and confused by the result of the referendum on independence. My heart goes out to you all and I hope that much good will come from the process that we have all gone through with you to a certain extent as citizens of the UK.
This is the bottom half of one of the four Burne-Jones windows in Birmingham Cathedral. This one was added in 1897 a few years after the other three. This window depicts The Last Judgement and the top part of the window which is not shown here is a mass of angels in brilliant red colours with Jesus in white at the centre. Then there is a band of grey showing buildings tumbling to the ground and then there is this section below of people looking up in confusion and fear, including a young woman with her baby. This somehow seemed to sum up how some may be feeling today. I wish I had taken the camera with me as this had to be taken on my phone but I thick it has done a reasonable job considering this window is at the darker end of the cathedral. The other three windows behind the altar were flooded with beautiful light in spite of it being a rather grey drizzly day.
A first for me today - I went to spend some of my first pension on a few little treats for myself!
