At the Polling Station for #IndyRef

Two YES voters have just voted in the independence referendum in Kirkcaldy. By the time I am writing this, we know they were "one of the 45%" as their fellow supporters are calling themselves on social media.

The NO side won the vote, but politics in the UK will never be the same again.

I am very proud that a referendum was held, that 1.6million voted yes, and that we reenergised political life in Scotland. This is by far the largest turnout at a vote in the lifetime of most people in Scotland, a remarkable 84%.

Time will tell what the future brings, but for "the 45" the struggle for a more prosperous and fairer Scotland goes on.
