Columbia Icefield
Today we drove from Revelstoke to Jasper and have travelled just over 1000 km. It rained quite heavily for a good part of the drive and the clouds hung over the tops of the mountains, but the scenery through the Icefields Parkway was as stunning as we remembered. We stopped at the Columbia Icefield for a short walk. The Athabasca Glacier in this shot has receded significantly since we started coming here over 40 years ago. Scary. We didn't walk all the way up to the glacier today but we might tomorrow, especially if it's sunny. In large view, you can see the tiny figures on the trail and at the bottom of the glacier, which give an idea of the scale of it.
Olds tomorrow - can't wait to see Krista!
