The Dipping of the Colours
As I said last night, I had a job on this evening, shooting the opening ceremony of the 1914-1918 Great War Memorial in Woodenbridge Village just 3 miles from home. It was a wonderful event attended by what seemed like half the county. Right at the end, the Last Post was sounded and the colours were ceremonially dipped and yes you are indeed looking at two standards with Union Jacks thereon. These are both Royal British Legion flags. How things have changed in this strange little country. Only a handful of years ago such a thing would have been unthinkable. Long may good sense pertain.
