Drummond's Bank
Drummond's Bank was founded in London in 1717, shortly after the Union, by Scottish Goldsmith Andrew Drummond.
The bank remained in the Drummond family until 1924 when it was purchased by The Royal Bank of Scotland.
The bank was the first acquisition for the RBS south of the Scottish border and was the first step in the bank's development into the largest bank in the world in terms of assets, a development which came to a shuddering halt in the financial crisis of 2008.
