Thoronet and Cotignac
L'Abbaye de Thoronet is a hymn to austerity, simplicity and purity of proportion in architecture. So much so that it was overrun with French architecture students surveying it when we were there. Those Cistercian monks must have been doing something right.
After the pure architectural experience we had a pure gastronomic experience: lunch at Le Clos des Vignes near Cotignac. A little rustic country place that looks a bit run down and basic - but oh the food! P had the best ragu of his life, and the gazpacho was to die for. We left very happy and headed home for a quiet afternoon in our little gite. Tomorrow we move West...
