Spiritually Derelict
Today is the first of Sarumstroller's Thursday challenge 'derelict Thursday' and this is my little bit of dereliction.
Meanwhile Nimbyism is alive and well in our village. A proposal for 73 new houses has brought a variety of responses from local residents, mostly along the lines of 'we don't need/want any more houses in our village'.
My response:
A. If, in the 1960's, 1970's or 1980's the residents of our village had objected to and stopped the building of houses, most of today's objectors wouldn't live here because their houses wouldn't have been built.
B. When you buy a house, you buy a house, you don't buy the village.
C. People need homes.
