Come in number three, your time's up.
Not sure what to say about OluDeniz, whilst we are still here! Suffice it to note that whilst St. Tropez is populated by The Beautiful People, OD is not.
The place looks a bit better in daylight, the garish neon and thumping Drum & Base being switched off, but still not somewhere I would ever again chose to be.
A bit disturbing to find that the beachside promenade doubles as a landing strip for tandem paragliders. As you can see, they are queing up to land, and there are 20 to 30 in the sky at any time. They come in at a fair lick, at least 30 mph, and once committed, they have little control – no brakes. Receivers run about screaming at lingerers, but not all tourists are sufficiently aware of what is going on and are thus exposed to considerable danger. Two humans hitting you at 20 – 30 mph feet first, would hurt!
Our hotel is fine, and would be an oasis in the cultural desert, but loses a wee bit by being on a 90 deg corner of the main road. Lots of grinding of gears from those vehicles leaving, and squeeeeeling of brakes and tyres from those arriving. But it does stop for about 3 hours in the middle of the night. :-)
