The Big Day

My intention was to get a shot outside a Polling Station of the Yes and No supporters together - maybe even shaking hands.

However the 5 Polling Stations I visited in a short space of time had two manned solely by 'No' campaigners and 3 manned solely by the 'Yes' side. Maybe they have an unwritten understanding to stay off each other's patch!

There is another important referendum happening today - the vote on whether equality will be introduced at the famous Royal and Ancient Golf Club at St Andrews, a break with a 250 year tradition. Both Gordon Brown and Alex Salmond have in the past criticised the rule (nice to see them in agreement about something!). Surely it will be a yes vote in that referendum at least!

Update: The result was an 85% Yes Vote (Women will be admitted to the Golf Club).
