An extra day in London was a bit of an indulgence, but there you go. Spent a couple of hours this morning in the 'Late Turner' exhibition in Tate Britain. There's a fascination at the moment with the final years of artist's lives - first the Matisse Cut outs and now the final, increasingly experimental works of our greatest painter. His way of creating light and atmosphere from the free application of paint is breathtaking. Hyperbole? Perhaps, but there's no other word when you're standing in front of the canvas.
