Spring may well be here

The plants in my garden seem to think it is Spring although, being plants, they aren't able to recognise the fact that it is Baltic out there right now. In truth, plants' ability to react to things on a day-by-day basis seems so lousy that - together with their toothsome succulence - it makes me wonder how they can possible still be here after this last Winter let alone millennia.

Not that I intend to start eating rose bush shoots just yet ...
