You're 'Avin' A Laugh
What a day!!!
Walking back from our potential new local ;-/ we walked along a path where there were cows, sheep, horses and a couple of donkeys on either side of the path! This one was certainly up for a laugh! He rather liked the grass we were picking for him, it had been on the other side of his field so of course it was going to taste better :-)
On our return home we were just about half a mile away when we came across a collection of police cars fire engine and an army bomb disposal unit in the field! A car drew along side and asked if we were parked up to see the bomb being exploded!! They gave us a few more details about a bomb/grenades from WW1 and WW2 being found in a house in St Albans and being brought here for disposal. We stayed long enough to see the first being detonated, in fact I got a video of the actual moment. Then got bored :-)
We had friend over later and decided to get a takeaway as we'd been out all day. When it was 45 mins late on delivery promised I tried ringing continually and eventually got an answer and was asked if I could collect instead! WHAT!? They then continued, explaining they had had a police raid and had not been allowed to accept or make calls out. They weren't allowed to leave the premises as immigration officers were there.........it turns out that several had been taken down to the station including management! If it hadn't been for the fact that we had hungry friends at home we would have told them where they could stick their meal ;-/ we ended up heating it all back up again in the microwave, probably not that healthy. Didn't even get exactly what had been ordered as the ovens had been turned off for a while, no naan bread available :-(((
What a day!!
