last minute

A long, busy vibrant day.

Leaving aside work, I had a trip over to the farm shop in Falkland for lunch & to stock the fridge. Lovely veggie bean chilli. As it happens, the owner had announced on Monday that he's voting Yes tomorrow. I was pleased about that, as he moved here from England to start his business.

One of the other local businesses I use regularly (sandwich shop) is owned by a fervent No man. Despises Alicsammin. We don't talk politics, but we always have a good laugh and a gossip.

This evening I was out canvassing undecided voters. Then a meeting at the local Yes hub for those volunteering tomorrow. As a bit of a newbie to this campaigning stuff, it was a fascinating insight into what happens in and around the polling stations.

It will be after 10 before I finish tomorrow. I'll start at 7am by voting myself, just in case I forget later (senior moments come thick & fast these days).

The Blip is what I found lying on the stairs when I got in about 9. It's my son's. I suspect he has an even more important function tomorrow. If he's wearing a suit when he goes out, that will confirm it.

Just to wrap up, if you ever feel like getting involved in a political campaign, do it. You'll meet interesting new people, have lots of laughs, shout at the TV a lot, but most important, feel part of the democratic process. Remember all those who don't have that opportunity.
