Native trees in Thorps Bush

I have been pondering how to take a photo of the trees in a small piece of native bush right in the heart of town. NZ native is very dense in the tops which makes it a low light situation. So I set off this morning to try some things. This one is pointing up to capture the totara and a broadleaf with some young undergrowth as well. The local council has made paths through so very pleasant- more so in summer.
Gifted to the town by the Thorp family it is an area of approx an acre and is one of the last three lots of bush left of a vast wooded area that was named Matiu by Maori when European settlement began in 1842.
