An anniversary

Today is the anniversary of the death of D's daddy.
I never knew him but I knew the family so I heard that he had died.
By every account, he was a wonderful man: Godly, God-fearing, God-serving, God loving, God honouring. And he had a great sense of humour.
Because he died when D was a teenager, we don't have much of his.
I searched. We have a watch, a hat, a couple of photos and lots of books, because he loved his books.
Quite a few of them are prizes. He clearly loved the study of history, the law and divinity (as it was then). And Latin.
And shown here too is the root of our affiliation with the name Cholmeley.
