Life, not as we see it.

Up, Up Uuup, Uuuup, and away

A second floating day, up the Dalyan Canal and into it's feeder lake Koycegiz.
Our Captain was a twitcher, so took us to all the likely spots. We saw kingfishers, a heron, little grey herons, cormorants, a couple of ducks, egrets and two tone crows, and finally a small terrapin. Unfortunately my camera skills are not up to the task of capturing good wildlife shots but you've got the best bird action one above.

Next we were taken back down river through many narrow channels to the sea. Well, to the brackish water behind the spit of sand protecting the lagoon entrance, adjacent to Turtle Beach. Captain became barbie chef and saladeer extrordinaire, producing a superb lunch.

This was followed by a side trip to where some local “fishermen” were coaxing large turtles to the surface with whole crabs. Super stuff, but perhaps a teeny bit exploitive.

All 5 of our party then fell asleep for the return journey to Dalaman town. Excellent day out.
