Once a Vegetable Bed...
I do not have much success growing vegetables so this bed is going to flowers this year. The white/grey bunch in the back is incredibly re-seeding/prolific borage, a bee-loving herbal that has uses in salads. I constantly have to pull out seedlings and whole plants. The usual colour has a light blue flower rather than white.
The purple stands in front are a few of this year's liatris, also bee and butterfly favourites.
Off in the shady left corner a nasturtium has managed to bloom under the shade of the encroaching borage.
There is also a volunteer apple tree at the very end (just out of the frame showing a few leaves). I have no idea if it will ever bloom or fruit. The birds like to sit in it.
I liked how the slanting sun highlights this bed and the nearly autumn background.
