It's been far too long since I made any scones. I'm not particularly pleased with these as they didn't rise very much, but the boys seemed to enjoy them.

The plate has a bit of a story; it was a wedding gift from some good friends of ours, along with a matching jug. They bought them for us while they were on a two-week cycling holiday in France. Apparently, they bought them only a couple of days into their holiday, and had to spend the rest of the trip lugging them around in their rucksacks! I'm amazed they managed to bring them back to the UK in one piece!!
