I thought I'd try the mess of a path which goes along the side of the gallery and which used to go straight across to Dublin Street, before a staggered crossing was implemented. I ended up beside the same car which had been just in front of me at the end of George Street, but didn't have buses passing within a couple of inches of my front wheel as they swung wide round the corner into North St David Street.
